Kiyoshi Saito is considered a modern master of Japanese print making and since the mid 20th century Saito has been beloved by collectors and institutions around the world. Entitled "Maiko III" this original woodblock was printed in 1960 and depicts the backside of a sitting Geisha. Signed in the lower left corner with his name fully written in ink, their is also his red chop mark present just above. In overall phenomenal condition, this print has been dearly taken care of and enjoyed for the last 60 years. The print is free from any tears, rips, creases, folds and punctures, their is only some minimal handling wear on the margins. This is a rare and fantastic example of Kiyoshi's body of work and his more traditional prints executed in the later half of his life. The images provided accurately depict the condition, quality and aesthetic beauty of this woodblock.
