This original watercolor and gouache painting is executed on a thin tight wove fabric depicting a wonderful impressionist Venice Gondola marker scene. Signed and dated in the lower right corner "Anna L. Stacey 1905" this work exemplifies her talent as an impressionist artist and ability for varied bright colors in her compositions. Almost able to feel the water rocking the boats back and forth this scene contains lifelike movement and qualities. Figures are selling fruit, vegetables and most likely flowers from their boats with more figures crossing a bridge to the left. The condition of this is exceptional with the only wear being around the edges of this work which has been mounted to the backed board.
