David Zak was born in Poland in 1904 and moved to Jerusalem in the 20's where he created depictions of the ancient city in predominately crayon and pastel such as this. His style and composition mimics that of post impression oil paintings similar to Birger Sandzen. This original work on paper is of superior quality and is highly pleasing to the eye with its intersecting lines and bold colors. The condition is very good with their being slight waviness to the sheet and tape remnants verso. Resting in what is believed to be its original two tone wood frame this work is ready to be hung and enjoyed! The images provided accurately represent the quality, condition and aesthetic beauty of this fine original work by David Zak but if you have any questions please feel free to ask prior to purchasing!
