Up for sale is a stunning woodblock entitled “Hirosaki Castle” by the Shin-Hanga master Hiroshi Yoshida. This composition is an incredibly beautiful example of Yoshida’s as the castle is viewed through the limbs of flowering cherry blossom trees which the castle is famous for. The more horizontal tree limbs against the verticality of the castle create a wonderful dynamic aesthetic quality then paired with the vivid flowering tree helps separate this from his many other prints. This is a posthumous edition free from the jizuri seal and stamped title and signature. The condition is wonderful with its full margins and fabulous original coloring with the only slight imperfection being minor handling creases low left. This print is sold housed in an attractive wood frame and is ready to be hung and enjoyed! The images provided accurately represent the quality, condition and aesthetic beauty of this fine Hiroshi Yoshida woodblock but if you have any questions please feel free to ask prior to purchasing!
