Available now is a pristine example of Jonas Wood’s “Untitled Pots” from the edition of 50 printed in 2009. Originally from a suite of three works printed by Cirrus Editions Ltd. this is the most desirable of the three showing four pots with a fabulous multi-color stem growing out of the smallest. Measuring 40 x 30 inches this print is unframed and in pristine condition and was purchased directly from Cirrus Gallery. This print is composed of three different print methods which include woodblock (black ground), lithography (pots) and serigraphy (color plant stem). This is a superior example of Jonas Wood’s beloved contemporary art style which has rocketed him to be at the top of the list for most desirable ultra-contemporary artists.
Jonas Wood’s playful and inviting still lifes feature everyday objects in warped, overlapped, and technicolor states—with an aesthetic reminiscent of ’90s graphic design and the angled interiors of Henri Matisse’s paintings of bedrooms. Whether on canvas or silkscreen, Wood’s whimsical compositions often showcase intricately patterned ceramic vessels (made by his wife, ceramicist Shio Kusaka), vivid green plants, shelves, and sports equipment. In December 2016, Wood wrapped MOCA Los Angeles in a rendering of Still Life with Two Owls—a 5,400 square-foot mural that showcases his architectural still lifes at a grandiose scale.
