Up for sale is an exquisite impressionist oil painting by the talented 20th century Russian born painter Solomon Wilson. This work is titled “Roofs” and shows a fantastic landscape looking down at the rooftops of surrounding homes and a large full green tree at the center. A mountain range is seen rolling in the distance cast in purple tones under a thin sky of white clouds. Signed in the low right corner “Sol. Wilson” this work is executed in oil on board and still retains its paper label verso hand written by Sol indicating the title, artist name and address. Beautifully painted this is just a lovely example from the artist that I much prefer to his heavier, darker compositions. In overall excellent condition the surface shows some imperfections as well as its original frame.
