Carey Cloud lived a fascinating life as an artist and toy maker for the Cracker Jack company inventing and producing some of the companies most iconic and desirable metal toys during the 1940's. After World War I Cloud started to create greeting cards and illustrating children's books before working with Cracker Jack. After all this Cloud then started to paint in what he called "realism in depth" which he related in style to Andrew Wyeth. This old red Indiana barn is a little gem of a painting by Cloud of whose original oil paintings on masonite are extremely scarce. The attention to detail in this work is phenomenal as you can see every individual board which the barn is composed of and their imperfect consistencies. You can almost feel the wind blowing around the tall grass of the field and the changing yellow colors of the vegetation / trees on each side of the barn create a great scene. Housed in a silver wood frame hand made in Belgium that measures 22.75 x 18.75 inches the actual painting measures 16 x 12 inches and is in pristine condition.

This work is signed in the lower right corner and also signed on the back of the frame in black ink as seen verso. Also attached to the back is an original artist pamphlet with a short artist biography. The images provided accurately represent the quality, condition and aesthetic beauty of this fine original oil painting but if you have any questions please feel free to ask prior to purchasing!
