Up for sale is a truly exquisite oil painting of the Scottish Highlands by the talented British painter Henry Hillier Parker. Dating from the turn of the century, this landscape is titled verso “Loch Katrine, Perthshire” and is signed low right recto “H.D. Hillier”. A group of highland cattle wade through the mirror like water sandwiched between a foreground of tremendous purple / pink vegetation and mountains in the distance. Showing tremendous brushwork and color, this is truly one of the finest paintings I have seen by Henry Hillier Parker. Executed in oil on canvas measuring 14 x 30 inches its original ornate gold wood frame measures 21.75 x 37.75 inches. Another significant factor raising the status of this work is its condition, completely original and fine, showing minimal / appropriate craquelure. The frame does show loss to its top right corner. Coming out from an exceptional Central Florida collection, this painting was taken care of and enjoyed privately for many decades by a single family. The images provided accurately represent the quality, condition and aesthetic beauty of this breathtaking Scottish Highland landscape by H. Hillier but if you have any questions please feel free to ask prior to purchasing!
