"Wawona Mariposa Grove" is one of Luigi Kasimir's most beautiful natural landscape compositions out of his entire body of work. The tall sequoias this etching depicts are located in the southernmost part of Yosemite National Park in California and it is one of the most iconic landscapes in America. These towering trees stand an incredible 200 feet tall and some are over 2000 years old. In this colorful composition you can see a few men on horse back riding through a fallen, hollowed out tree and two more men camping out at the base of another tree in the right foreground. The etching is a beautiful print in wonderful condition resting in its original double matted two-tone wood frame. The print shows some very minor toning in its margins. This is truly an etching from a master of the medium and one of an intense breathtaking landscape. This is an estate signed which means it was printed by Luigi's son Robert using the exact same plates and method with his father’s precision and detail.
