Up for sale is a rare early state Utagawa Hiroshige color woodblock entitled “Amanohashidate in Tango”. Printed in 1859 this original print measures 13 1/2 x 9 inches with its trimmed margins and shows extensive wood grain. Adhesive tacks holds the print to its backed paper at its top two corners and under the print is a paper label indicating this came through the hands of Japanese print dealer S.M. Shiba Miyanoshita which bears his red seal present verso on the low left corner. The print shows loss of color, soiling, minor foxing, pin holes etc... This is a rare and excellent original Hiroshige woodblock in which condition, quality and aesthetic beauty is accurately represented with the provided images but if you have any questions please feel free to ask prior to purchasing!
