Up for sale is an exemplary painting from the Filipino modern master painter Roger San Miguel. Known for his impressionist and expressionist figural depictions this painting so wonderfully portrays a beautiful woman standing in the open surrounded by tall red leafed tropical trees while holding a small birds nest. Her hands make a near perfect heart shape as she delicately holds the nest with small baby birds inside. On each side of the woman are a total of seven white birds on the ground tucked within the long blades of grass. Signed in the low right corner “RS Miguel” this painting is an absolute gem and a personal favorite of mine! The woman is just stunning from her jet black hair, delicate facial structure and attractive pink clothing against her rich brown skin. There is such a lovely intimate emotion painted into this painting that is seen in other works by Miguel like those showing mothers with their babies. The painting which is in excellent condition measures 36 x 24 inches while its original frame measures 38 x 25.75 inches showing some damage/cosmetic imperfections.
