Up for sale is a beautiful painting by the talented Danish painter Thorvald Londal depicting a breathtaking Danish summer landscape. This impressive painting is executed in oil on canvas and is quite large measuring 26.5 x 38.5 inches while its original mid century wood frame measures 31 x 42.75 inches. Signed in the low right corner and dated 1953, this work was painted just four years prior to his passing in 1957. Two cows are seen in the middle ground grazing in the field with two groups of farmhouses visible in the distance. A large lake is seen just past the houses with another beautiful landscape present in the far distance as white clouds peacefully move through the large blue sky. The overall quality of the painting is excellent being finely executed and showing a lovely use of natural colors. This painting has quite the presence when hung on the wall practically allowing you the feeling of being able to step into the composition losing ones self in the work. In overall excellent condition the painting only shows one minor blemish, a .5 inches partial tear present right center, being an incredibly easy fix for any conservator. The partial tear is so minor it is completely missable unless under close scrutiny. The frame may also show some minimal cosmetic imperfections.
