Originally painted for the Holy Land Expereance in Central Florida; this commissioned work of art hung at the park for nearly 15 years since its opening in 2002. Keith Newton painted two pieces for the attraction's collection which also included a scene depicting the account from Exodus of Moses at the Burning Bush still presently on display. Newton is a former Disney animator and expert artist with an exceptional talent in depicting similar scenes in such theatrical ways. Executed with a high level of detail and color from the shining armor to the large cumulous clouds this work is impressive on all accounts and aesthetically pleasing to view.

Newton captured one of the most notable Biblical events from the Old Testement with Goliath towering significantly over David in the right foreground. The other soldiers in gold armor are looking at the young boy and laughing at his small stature and lack of armor / weapons not expecting whats about to take place. Along the ridge-line that moves from right to left is filled with the Philistine army looking down to the scene below. Small details like these soldiers in the distance to the skull at the top center of Goliaths shield make the work extremely attractive and unique.

Measuring in total quite large 48.5 x 38.25 inches in its stellar gold frame it has an inner high relief border of running horses from the neck up that work their way across the entire frame. The condition of the painting is excellent and the frame is also just some some minimal cosmetic blemishes.

The images provided accurately represent the quality, condition and aesthetic beauty of this fine original oil painting but if you have any questions please feel free to ask prior to purchasing!
