Now available is this incredibly rare original watercolor by the beloved American female artist Elizabeth Wentworth Roberts. Elizabeth’s works scarcely surface as the majority of are held in private hands or public collections. This watercolor depicts a Venice street scene with a beautiful yellow building with a red tile roof and green shutters on the waters edge with a small boat at its base. The water reflects an array of bright colors that appear to be dancing on the waters rippling surface. This work is signed in the upper left corner “E.W. Roberts” and dated just after 1907. Created just one year before Elizabeth finally settled in Concord, Massachusetts; this was an important time in Elizabeth’s life leading up to her forming the Concord Art Association in 1916. This watercolor measures 12 x 8 inches and is in good condition showing some minor yellowing and is adhered between the matting and board.
