Available now is a fantastic American impressionist oil painting of Holes Creek in Dayton Ohio by the talented American artist Ewing Rankin. This work was executed in 1928 as noted by the paper label verso and is monogramed by the artist low left “ER”. Executed in oil paint on Turner canvas board the painting measures 20 x 16 inches while the wonderful period wood frame measures 23.5 x 19.75 inches. This painting has become a favorite of mine with its good color and excellent level of execution. With its thick brush strokes and confident application of paint gives it a highly aesthetic texture and feel. The water has an incredible array of color used that when inspecting up close it s hard to imagine how natural it looks from a distance. Ranking really understood how to paint and it shows especially in this work. This calm Ohio scene of Holes Creek is an incredible original in excellent condition with its only flaw being one small piece of paint loss to the far left tree in its bark. The images provided accurately represent the quality, condition and aesthetic beauty of this fine work but if you have any questions please feel free to ask prior to purchasing!
