Up for sale is an absolutely beautiful antique European impressionist oil painting depicting a setting sun landscape. I have been holding on to this oil painting and have had it up on my wall for quite a while enjoying it. When I first say this painting come up for sale I fell in love with the piece but have since needed to clear up some space for new works I have acquired. 

The quality of the work is absolutely outstanding and it is unfortunate I am unable to make out the signature in the lower right hand corner because the artist had a talented hand. The brushstrokes are quick and thick which you can see from the images and the use of color is very appealing to the eye. This painting is undated but appears to be from the late 19th to early 20th century. This painting is at least 100 years old.

This is a good size oil painting with the frame measuring 36 x 28 inches while the canvas measures 31 x 23 inches. The frame shows some obvious damage with missing gesso and the canvas has some damage as well. As you can see the composition has become soiled and dirty overtime which could use a good clean as well as a few spots of missing paint that have been colored in by a previous owner as seen in the 8th and 9th photo. These two small spots are very difficult to see and near impossible to notice when up on the wall. Their is also some craquelure visible in the lighter sky and some small areas of minor indentations from the reverse.

On the reverse their are attached a couple of small paper labels as seen in the last image provided possibly indicating this used to be part of a larger collection. The auction this came from had a significant amount of other European landscapes a few of which I was able to purchase as well.
