Up for sale is a phenomenal original art nouveau oil painting of a striking nude female portrait. The female subject is sitting in a round back peacock chair against an indistinguishable background. The majority of the composition is of similar cool color with the only real contrast being her warm red lips. The contrast between her lips and the rest of the work add a nice dynamic and help pull you first into her attractive and reserved facial expression. Executed in oil on canvas this work is signed vertically in the lower right corner "Disch" and a partial label verso unfortunately has been lost that read the artists first name. Painted in an impressionist fashion the quality and overall brushwork is exquisite with an almost translucent appearance absorbing light. The canvas measures 20 x 30 inches while the original wood frame measures 26.5 x 36.5 inches. The condition of the painting is excellent showing no rips, patches or punctures. The texturing in the face and eyes is truly fabulous to view and the work looks outstanding when hung.
