Up for sale is an absolutely beautiful oil painting on canvas depicting a small brick home on a small creek in the woods. This oil painting is signed in the lower right hand corner "Munthe" and executed in a beautiful slight impressionist fashion. Framed in its original gorgeous gold gesso frame it has been professionally restored which adds such a wonderful addition to this piece. The frame measures approximately 32.75 x 29.25 inches while the canvas measures 24 x 20 inches. Not only has the frame been restored but also the canvas which has been cleaned, relined as well and their appears to have been a repair to a tear as seen in the 6th image provided. Their are also two scratches that have occurred after it being restored one of which is obvious on the right side of the painting and minor craquelure.

This painting was wonderfully executed and an absolutely beauty to look at on the wall. This picture is signed in the lower right "Munthe" but I am unable to determine which Munthe painted it. Their were many significant, desired and collected artists with that last name. If you know who painted this please let me know, I would appreciate it. The execution is impressive clearly showing the talent the artist had.
