Up for sale is a beutiful 19th century antique oil painting entitled "Marie-Antoinette with a Rose" after the original by Louise Elisabeth Vigee Le-Brun painted in 1783. The original painted by Le-Brun is part of the Palace of Versailles collection and was entered into it during the 19th century during the reign of Louis Philippe. This is a strikingly beautiful oil on canvas reproduction from the 1800's. The level of detail and overall quality resembles the original very well and is just as enjoyed today as it was in the late 18th century. 

Executed in oil painting on canvas the painting is unsigned. In fantastic overall condition for its age the only signs of wear are minor craquelure which nicely attests to its age and some possible darkening of the colors which would benefit from a light cleaning. Resting in its original gold wood frame it is ready to be hung and enjoyed in your home or collection. You can easily find reproductions of this painting today but not from the period of the original, it is quite a special little painting! The gold wood frame measures 7.25 x 9 inches while the canvas measures 5.5 x 7.5 inches. While the size is small its overall aesthetic beauty and historical significance is hard to beat.
