Up for sale is a beautiful antique map depicting South East Asia including China, Cambodia, Vietnam Borneo and the Philippines. This map is hundred of years old printed fine hand made paper with a fine watermark as shown in the last image provided. This was originally purchased from an Asian gallery and brought to the United States as indicative by the wood panel backing seen verso. While no engravers or cartographers name is present it is unknown but the map appears to date to at the earliest the 1700's. Wormholes are present in the center of the map in perfectly mirroring each other indicating this map had been folded for probably a majority of its previous life. Some foxing is present as well as a vertical line that runs across the low center portion of the print. I have tried to locate another example of this map but unfortunately was unable to appearing to be rather rare in addition to beautiful. Resting in its original gallery frame measuring 17 x 16 inches the map plate measures roughly 9.75 x 9 inches.
