Up for sale is an exquisite antique Indian opaque painting on paper depicting a beautiful woman colorfully dressed playing a hand drum. Overhead a dark and ominous sky is present with a mouth and nose visible in the lower right cloud as seen in the 7th image provided. This work dates from the late 1800's and is in incredible condition attesting to the importance this work has been to its owners over the last 100+ years. Coming out of a fine and large collection of similar works this has been professionally framed and preserved. Unsigned, this painting has an impressive amount of detail and well use of colors attracting the eye with a soft matt finish to the work making it look smooth and soft. The floral filigree border is all hand painted around the image. The frame measures 15 x 18 inches while the painting measures 10.75 x 7.5 inches. The only damage are some minor cosmetic blemishes to the frame.
