Up for sale is a hauntingly beautiful mid century watercolor depicting a young girl with her head tiled to one side with two birds to her left. This dark composition is stunningly painted in primarily black watercolor, gouache and the surface of the paper scratched to help define particular lines like the birds definitions. Monogramed in the lower left corner "RMB" the artist is unknown which is a shame because it is a well executed and stunning picture when hung. It carries a particular presence that is quite unique because of its subject matter of this sweet mysterious girl in this dark void of a setting. The work rests in its original frame measuring 19 x 23 inches while the painting measures 11 x 14.5 inches. The condition is excellent and the frame shows some minor cosmetic blemishes.
