Up for sale is a beautiful antique oil painting on canvas depicting an American landscape with cows and mountains in the far background. This work is resting in its original decorated gold wood frame which measures 25.25 x 12.25 inches while the canvas measures 23 x 10 inches. Illegibly monogramed and dated in the lower left corner their are three letters and a date of either the late 1880's or 1890's. The style feels folky and self taught but in a very appealing naive fashion. Covered in dirt and grime over the last 120+ years this work has become dirty muting the colors, a good clean would really benefit this brightening it up. Showcasing 3 cows in the center having a drink and 2 resting to the left this work also has two small homes to the left and old rolling mountains behind. The frame shows wear and the canvas has damage, craquelure, small punctures, scratches and scuffs. On the reverse is a paper label on the stretcher that reads "Edwin H.
